about

I am a writer, a reader, a visual artist and sometime curator now based in England. For a long time, and as the outcome of the happenstance of my education (it's date and place), I could not decide what I was, and thought I had to choose. Now I consider writing, reading and working with photographs (my own and those by others), drawing and collage all equally part of my practice. I wrote within and around the discipline of art history for a long time; a record of this is in my publications list. During lockdown, I became a different sort of writer, and a record of this too may be found in my most recent publications. Hopefully, there will be more to come: there is work in progress about which I am excited. I am preoccupied with the idea of time ongoing; with tracks and records and registers; with how one might attempt to keep stock of the passing of time, and in the process, gain an archive but lose the present. As this website testifies, I am not very sure about the present moment.
